THE PRIZE: Scholarships of $1,000.00 will be awarded. The Scholarship Fund will determine the number of scholarships awarded.
Guidelines: A selection committee comprised of business will review all entries. Judges will select the scholarship recipients based on their overall personal integrity and character, their personal achievements, contributions to their communities and schools, and academic accomplishments. Decisions of the judges are final.
ELIGIBILITY: The applicant must be a junior or senior at a high school in Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Morgan and Winston counties with a desire to continue his/her education. Students who entered as a junior but were not a winner may reenter as a senior.

· a 400-word essaycommunity. Discuss your viewpoints and give examples, as applicable. You may want to discuss how marketplace ethics involves integrity, honesty and civility in our community.
· All essays become property of the BBB. Winners’ names may be released to the public and news media for promotional purposes

AWARD: Recipients of BBB Torch Awards scholarships will be asked to attend the Bureau’s Torch Awards Luncheon (date and time to be announced). The scholarship will be made payable to the college or university of which the student enrolls. Scholarships must be applied to student’s college/university within 2 years of receiving the award. The scholarship must be applied toward school related expenses including: tuition, books, room and/or board or other related items.
