Annual Torch Awards for Ethics Luncheon Recognizes Area Businesses, Non-Profits and Students
Better Business Bureau of North Alabama will present its 16th Annual Torch Awards for Ethics Celebration Luncheon on Wednesday, November 20th at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville. Presenting sponsors for this event are GaN Corporation and Nucor Steel – Decatur.
The awards program was designed to gain public recognition for local companies that maintain a solid commitment to conduct their business practices in an ethical fashion and work to ensure that our marketplace remains fair and honorable for all.
The Torch Awards for Ethics is awarded to area businesses and non-profit organizations in recognition of their superior commitment to ethical standards that benefit their customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and surrounding communities. Winners of the North Alabama Torch Awards for Ethics are eligible to go on to compete at the international level for the Council of Better Business Bureaus’ Torch Award for Ethics.
The BBB will also celebrate its 12th Annual Torch Scholarships program during the event. BBB will award several $1,000 scholarships to high school students from BBB’s 13 County service area. This year BBB received nearly 200 scholarship submissions and judging was conducted by members of the Rotary Club of Greater Huntsville. Finalists from the BBB Character Foundation of North Alabama’s Laws of Life Essay contest will be named and presented with cash awards as well.
Scholarship funds are being provided by: 1st Family Mortgage, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 3263, Greater Huntsville Rotary Foundation, Jerry Damson Automotive Group, Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI), Redstone Federal Credit Union and Torch Technologies.
The Torch Awards for Ethics Luncheon Celebration will be held at the Von Braun Center in the North Hall beginning at 11:30 a.m. Mr. Randy Paul of the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
Tickets for the luncheon are available at $35 a person, or $250 for a table of 8. Patron sponsorships, which include luncheon tickets, are also available.
